#225 - Destroyer - No Cease Fires!

I don’t know who supered86 is but apparently he’s a ‘big deal’

#341 - Eric’s Trip - Girlfriend

One of the few 90s indie-pop bands where I can say great production as a real asset.

#35 - Think About Life - Paul Cries

A few times recently I’ve posted about songs that are massive in indie clubs, and with the logic of lists, this is posted later and is therefore better than all of them. But it doesn’t have a tenth of the recognition. But oh man this is such a ridiculous tune, very little would excite me more being ridiculously drunk and hearing this played. Would be a shame i’m the only one going mental.

#50 - The Unicorns - Les Os

Not sure if there are any better bands in history who’ve recorded only one proper (proper you massive massive pedants) record. The bit at 2:06 in this, man oh man oh man.

#53 - Wolf Parade - I’ll Believe In Anything

Eagle-eyed (dolphin eared?) readers will’ve got this as a spoiler a few weeks ago when I copied the wrong link. Deservedly an extra dozen or so places up the chart, one of those huge indie rock anthem type tracks that will never fail to get me excited, which is saying something as it’s been included in more or less “indie dj” setlist i’ve witnessed post-2005. and rightly so.

#68 - Arcade Fire - Wake Up

If i was a mega boring objectivey all encompassing indie publication who singlehandlely decides CONSENSUS, i’d probably say Funeral was the “best” record made in the last ten years. There’s a chemistry there that won’t ever be matched, even if Neon Bible (yes, you massive revisionists) and The Suburbs try their hardest.

Indie rock, huh?

#75 - Final Fantasy - Better Than Worse

Could quite happily do some gushing here but it’d be more productive to point you in the direction of two other Owen Pallett related projects: Les Mouches and Picastro. Both incredible.

#115 - Broken Social Scene - KC Accidental

oh my god those drums. sometimes i think every indie rock record should have the production of You Forgot It In People

#130 - Sunset Rubdown - Idiot Heart

Man, thinking about this track being only 130 seems pretty retarded but only serves as a reminder that i absolutely love the 129 ahead.

AND YOU KNOW YOUR HEART

AND YOU KNOW YOUR HEART

AND YOU KNOW YOUR HEART
