#236 - The Beta Band - Dry The Rain
Yet another ridiculous gap of knowledge for me, but this + a few singles are really great. I look forward to one day delving into their work properly and finding out this was totally the wrong choice. Nice enough though.

Admittedly the only Wake track i’ve heard, by it being on Sarah Records’ There And Back Again, but sounds like I should investigate. Gonna patronisingly tell you to listen.
#39 - Boards of Canada - ‘84 Pontiac Dream
Feels ridiculous compiling a list from the past decade and not including something from Geogaddi. Sometimes I think I’ll die by my one-song-per-artist rule, but then I remember that top 5 would probably just be five songs from the same album (CLUE). Anyway, despite this being from a pretty underwhelming record, 2005’s The Campfire Headphase, it had some pretty beautiful moments on. Like this one. Incredible sample.

Probably the schmindiest band i’ll ever love, but schmindie at it’s best.
#139 - Life Without Buildings - The Leanover
Probably the band i’d most like to see reform. Never usually one for reformations and am painfully boring and righteous about sacred legacies yadda yadda yadda (and god knows, life without buildings have left a perfect one behind, with their only studio album being flawless), but fuck it - after seeing Pavement and Devo and countless other bands in the past couple of years I thought I’d never see, I just want to see a band i love play songs i love really well, evidence of which lies in 2007’s Live At The Annandale Hotel. ATP, 2011, 10 years after Any Other City, make it happen.
#172 - Arab Strap - Fucking Little Bastards
Second appearance featuring Malcolm Middleton, and maybe my favourite Scottish band ever - Philophobia being my favourite scottish record, for certain. Monday At The Hug And Pint doesn’t come far behind - this is the highlight from it.
