Music blog. Throughout 2011 I'll be posting one song a day from the 90s, counting down the 'best' 365 with #1 being posted on December 31st. One song per artist. Also posted will be little features on new music and bands, as well as mixtapes made by myself and guests. During 2010 posted my favourite 365 tracks of 2000-2009, you can read that list here
#220 - The Promise Ring - Red & Blue Jeans

as far as i’m aware i’ve gone 145 tracks without posting any classic 90s emo yet. the remaining 220 will definitely resolve this.
#221 - Mos Def - Mathematics

Think The Ecstatic actually turning out to be half-decent, a decade after the only Mos Def solo record i could stomach is one of the most surprising things of recent years. Though to say i’m merely stomaching tracks like this is probably doing Black On Both Sides a huge disservice
#222 - Onyx - Throw Ya Gunz

WOOOOOOOOOORD UP
RAISE IT UP
#223 - Eels - Cancer For The Cure

Like to thing the black rider esque percussion of this led to tom waits becoming a fan, and subsequent howls on going fetal years later.
#224 - Tag Team - Whoomp! (There It Is)

This one goes out to Barack Obama & the cast of It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia
#245 - U-God - Turbulence

Almost certainly the worst Wu-Tang affiliate but capable of good moments. Still don’t think I’ve made it through his whole debut album, this is track 2.
#248 - Heatmiser - Blackout

Find it really bizarre how little you see Heatmiser mentioned considering it’s Elliott Smith’s old band. Can’t pretend i’m their biggest fan, nor that I know a ton about them, but songs like this make a case for them deserving more attention.
#250 - Free Kitten - Proper Band

formed a band?
#251 - …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead - Mistakes & Regrets

Sometimes writing a few hundred words and 10.0 score does the job. There are other times when writing lyrics in capitals does a better job.
If I could make a list
Of my mistakes and regrets
I’d put your name on top
And every line after it
IF I COULD MAKE A LIST
OF MY MISTAKES AND REGRETS
I’D PUT YOUR NAME ON TOP
AND EVERY LINE AFTER IT
